i have a 42" LG plasma and i've had it for one week and about 40 hours on it.

as i was running the break in slides i noticed a red dot near the bottom right corner when the screen was black. is this a problem already or is it common and is it gonna affect my tv in the future? i have a 30 day return policy

also it's a dead pixel correct?

It's probably a stuck pixel. Not uncommon. If you can't see it during normal viewing, there's nothing to worry about. Different vendors have various policies on replacements for dead/stuck pixels - sometimes it's the number of them. "One" is probably below the threshold. If you get a replacement there's no guarantee that it will have zero. How close were you when you noticed it?

well the problem is that i've only had for a week and about 40 hours watching on it and have 1 dead pixel so doesnt that mean progressively it will start getting more? And i can only notice it from about 2-3 ft but only on a all black screen
