1) Playlists. So I can watch a marathon without having to touch the remote.

2) Sort options. I'd rather look at my Replay Guide by date. I'm sure some would like it by channel. I think another neat sort would be order of deletion. It would be nice to be able to customize the view.

3) Return to live during a recorded show with one button.

4) Delayed recorded show continues onto live buffer instead of stopping and bringing up menu.

If live TV was the last thing you were watching prior to watching a recorded show, the "Jump" button will take you back to live TV.

Is touching the remote really such a bad thing? Yeah it's nice when CA is working and it skips automatically, but how difficult is it really to have to push a couple of buttons to start the next recorded program? Not pushing some buttons saves you +/-15 seconds (depending on your dexterity and knowledge of where the shows are located on your Replay(s)) per episode?
* I wish on shows received via IVS that it would show the date received. Almost like a record date.

* I wish I could stream the Live TV buffer with DVArchive or another ReplayTV
definitely sort, just today in fact i saw the cable box had turned off somehow and thus it was recording nothing when i got home, with some 100 shows on there, there's no way to see what had recorded static all day...

the other MAJOR thing is like a tivo to-do list of what it plans to record in the future.

we all know there is no more progress on replay though, so i dont see the point in wishing

Something like this has happened to me, and I usually just scroll down the list reading the dates...but you could use DVArchive to sort the shows on that Replay by date, then you'll know which shows to look for.

I never realized how much I wanted/needed this feature until I saw how it was implemented on the Tivo. It can't be *that* hard to add with a little extra code (or am I missing something fundemental here). I know it's something that's been requested for a long time. Could the reason they've never attemped to add it have anything to do with infringement?

The Trustee's of ACME corp must like you, because you can do that with the jump button already.

-Tune to a "Live TV" channel

-Watch enough to not want to anymore...

-Choose a pre-recorded show from the Replay Guide to Play instead.

-Watch enough of it to be struck by indecision, or realize it's worse than the Live TV show you were watching a moment ago...

-Press "JUMP" and you're back to whatever Live TV drivel that you started off watching...

-Press "JUMP" to go back to the pre-recorded show.

-repeatedly press "JUMP" as many times as you can, as fast as you can to trade ReplayTV viewing for an epileptic seizures...

DVArchive has it. Shows conflicts. Shows episodes that match but won't record for other reasons (repeats, etc.) Hopefully you have a model of ReplayTV that can connect to it (I just bought a 5504 after having a ShowStopper forever and I cannot believe the difference DVA has made in my ability to know what's going on and to do something about it)

On my remote that button is labeled John Kerry.

Maybe they'll make some easy changes like this so that they can push those who have blocked updates to their 55xx's to take the new updates
i know DVArchive has that feature, but frankly it has never worked for me. half the time it says it wont record show A and will record show B but ends up recording A, maybe due to priorities i have enabled. i've even seen it say it wont record a single record show which it obviously will...

the other thing is seeing this in DVA's channel guide isnt the same as in a tivo to do list. looking at the guide you have to scroll up and down and left and right 300 times over to cover all the channels and times. dont get me wrong i love the DVA guy and all the progress he has made...i am dissing dnna

Have you tried DVArchive 3.1? This version really eliminated a lot of the previous problems with priorities. Also in DVA there is a TAB called Upcoming Shows that requires no scrolling- it just lists the shows scheduled to record and any potential conflicts. Literally thousands of RePlay use this software on a daily basis with great success.

Give it another try

I use DVArchive all the time and love it, but it would still be nice if Replay had this feature. It's more convenient to resolve conflicts from the Replay since you can't over-ride recordings from DVArchive.

There's an echo in here.

As burger mentioned, there's a tab in DVA 3.1 which is just the upcoming shows (I just entered the world of DVA about two weeks ago so I don't know what the software had or didn't have before that) which would solve your scrolling problem. My limited experience indicates that when that tab has shown me a conflict it was correct about what actually recorded. When you say "priorities I have enabled" are you referring to the built-in things like "keep until I delete" or is there another way to mess with priorities that I am as of yet unfamiliar with (although I've used a Showstopper for years, I've only recently acquired a 5504 and haven't had time to explore all of its or DVA's advanced features yet, so sorry if that sounds like a newbie question :) )
