My TSS-1100 sub blew some caps, and is for all purposes dead. Now I need a suitable replacement. I was happy with the unit, it met my needs, so I'm not looking for an upgrade per se. I'm still using all the satelite speakers that came with the set, so I need something that would handle a crossover at 120Hz.

1. My budget is somewhat limited at this time. Under $200 shipped keeps my wife really happy. I could probably stretch that to about $250 shipped, but it would be close.

2. I'm not overly picky about size. Anything roughly the size of my current sub is fine.

3. The room is 20x11x8. It is open at the far end to the stairwell upstairs.

4. Useage is almost 100% HT/TV.

5. My listening habbits aren't too extreme. I generally keep the volume loud enough to hear, but not anywhere near movie theater levels. The unit is in the living room and there are bedrooms directly above. I tend to watch a fair bit after the kids are in bed, so I'm not looking for room shaking bass. I'd like to hear it more than feel it.

6. Appearance wise, I'm ok with matte black. But, a nice veneer is always a plus.

7. My timeframe is flexible. I'm missing my sub, but I don't have to have one next weekend.

I'm considering stuff like the Bic F-12, H-100 or maybe even the PA-120. Would any of these be around the same performance as the TSS-1100 that I'm looking to replace?

Individuals in this forum like the Premier Acoutics PA-120 and the BIC F12 (or H100 if still available). Both are under $250 shipped.

Your room is a little large for these subwoofers (but each will outperform the Infinity HTIB subwoofer that may not be worth attempting to fix).
