My tv is the LG 42PX3DCV. I just called this morning and had my cable service from comcast upgraded to digital plus. I didnt wanna pay extra for an hdtv digital box and was wondering if there was a way to get hd using the qam (cadtv) thing

You most likely would have only the local channels, if your cable company carries them. Most other channels will be encrypted.
