Just curious if anyone has run into this hdmi problem. I have a dell 37 inch lcd and recently got dish network. I have not been able to use the hdmi ports. All i get is a black screen. Upon chatting with Dell the tech told me my problem was my hdmi to hdmi cable. Said I needed a hdmi to dvi cable with an adapter. Promised that would fix my problem. Does this make sense to anyone? Just curious before I spend more $.

Well since the 622 has an HDMI out, the tech was BS'ing you. You do not need to buy a DVI to HDMI cable. Is there anything in the 622's menu that you have to set it to the HDMI out? I know with my SA 8300 HD-DVR I had to set it to output on HDMI. If thats not the problem then its either the 622 or the TV. I would then call Dish and try another 622 and if that doesnt work I would call Dell again. Just my 2 cents

You do not need to activate the HDMI port on a 622 -- it's always on. However, some of the early 622 receivers had problems with the HDMI port. The weight of the cable would cause the HDMI connection to come loose inside the receiver. Dish should replace the receiver for free if this is an issue.
