If your TV has an HDMI input, it's HDCP compliant. That's really all you need to know.

Sometimes the issues come up with HTPC's though that the components just don't jive for whatever reason in terms of HDCP. For example I have my TV hooked through the PC to an HDMI input, and it still says it's not HDCP compliant, even though it damn well should be.

A lot of people spring for the Slysoft AnyDVD HD software (which is what I did,) which removes all the HDCP tagging and such from discs so you can watch it whether these issues come up or not. The software will seem expensive to you up front since it's such a small program and feels like a light piece of software, but it's plenty worth it to remove these headaches.
