With HDTVtoMPEG2, one can reduce 1/3 - 1/4 TS/TP file size by converting it to MPG file. NOt very big compare to WM9, but really useful considering it's lossless.

Many player can play MPG file, but not MyHD itself. I've tried build a filter graph, with some tweak, I can finally play a single MPG file in the graph edit. It pass video stream to capture device MDP-100(MYHD), and audio to a seperate decoder, anything like WinDVD.

Now, if I try build a custom media filter for zoomplayer, it fails, always complaint input pin of MyHD doesn't exist.

Anyone has any luck in this? If one can play multiple MPG files use MyHD card, we save some harddisk space, CPU power, and still have lossless video and audio quality.

It's much better if MyHD can support media file directly, it's still mpeg2 stream and hardware support is not an issue.

MyHD's mepg-2 decoding chip - Janus - just support transport stream. So for the play of DVD (program stream), the device driver just convert PS to TS on the fly and sent that converted stream into Janus chip. But source program stream limited to DVD stream.

So if you want try to play your mpg stream on MyHD, you need to convert your mpg stream to VOB format.
