I have recently installed a myHd in my htpc. I love the video quality and it sounds pretty good too, but there have been a couple of issues immediately apparent.

1. Sometimes the audio doesn't come on when watching live TV. Flipping channels back and forth will restore the audio. I'm using wave out through an on mothermoard spdif optical out.

2. It seems very sluggish when I have ethernet plugged in. I checked the irqs, and the 3com onboard nic is on irq 18 while the mit card is on 20. But when the ethernet is plugged in, response feels very sluggish in general for switching channels, going from hd mode and back, etc.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh my system:

P4 2.4ghz

Abit IS7 mobo

myhd mdp-120 with 1.61 drivers

Spencer,

Don't know about the audio, I guess it would depend on the sound chip. Make sure you have the latest drivers from the Mobo manufacturer.

As for the sluggishness, do you have "Set MyHD Process Priority High" check in the VGA setup of the MyHD configuration?

I don't own the MyHD, but I do own a fusion 2. We both have the same processor and mobo setup, I also have audio drop out that can be fixed by changing channels. It sounds like it must be the onboard audio chip ( I also send my audio out via optical ). Very interesting to say the least.

Kei, yes the priority is set to high.

Yes it does seem odd. Perhaps it is the optical out. I will be trying with the coax output shortly.
