Hi,

I was wondering if someone has his/hers Infocus 4805 hooked up to a mythtv system and what the best modeline for this pj would be.

I want to connect my 4805 to my mythtv system using DVI, but I have no idea on how to make that DVI port of my Nvidia Geforce MX spit out the best 16:9 resolution for this particular projector.

Any pointers / tips?

Thanks in advance!

try this modeline:

Modeline "[email protected]" 37.293 848 936 984 1104 480 508 509 563 +hsync +vsync

Its been working for me...you lose 3 pixels on each side but I never notice it...video card can't do 854 anyway.

I have a built in sound card(nvidia) and I haven't tries digital out just yet...maybe next weekend.

I have another modeline for 848x480 @ 48hz but the 4805 doesn't go to 48 it still stays at 60hz.

And what DVI cable do you use? I've heard there are lots of differences between DVI cables for the 4805... I think I need around 25 feet of cable.

Well actually, I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. My configuration isn't complete, I still have MAJOR issues trying to get spdif sound out working (both ac3 passthrough and normal tv sound) on my SB Live!. Until I fix that I don't want to drag my pc down (where my 4805 is) to hook it up to the PJ.

I'll let you know when I try it out! Thanks again for the help!

Hate to put this OT, but the Sb Live currently has issues with Alsa 1.0.6 and the spdif out. Try 1.0.5 if you can.
