Nad C320 BEE - Opinions

380 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Logic_BomB
So I went to my local audio shop a few days ago and they helped me with what I like to call a "surplus of money" problem.

I auditioned some speakers and decided on the paradigm 60's. Great sound. I explained that I had *nothing* at home to hook these up to so needed some options. He said that the 2-channel Nad C320 BEE would be just fine since I'm in an apartment and won't be blaring the speakers loud enough for neighbors to hear (I don't like ear-piercing volume for anything anyway...).

My questions are:

- Is the NAD C320BEE sufficient to drive a pair of Paradigm 60's v3 without and problems under normal loads?

- what is the NAD C320BEE like as far as inputs and outputs? I have a tv, dvd player, and about a thousand video game systems which I can easily use a switcher for, just need to know the nad is capable of bringing sound to all of these without any hiccups?

I'm very unfamiliar with what an integrated amp can do.

(BTW, i got the nad and paradigm 60's for $2200 canadian total and he's throwing in the wires to hook it up with. Good deal? It is NOT too late to change my mind on the amp)

The C320 can EASILY drive those Paradigms - and I dare say to deafening levels.

People see 50 watts as a low number, but to double the sound output you need to increase wattage by 10x. So only a 500 watt amp will be twice as loud as a 50 watt amp.

Thanks! That's definately a sigh of relief on my part. I was so afraid of ending up with a ho-hum solution. I think i got a good deal for it all - $2200 CDN which is actually a bit less than i was thinking i would spend on everything.
