Nad T752 or NadT753 or Marnatz 7400

I am upgrading my receiver. Seems Nad has good review. I am looking into T753 and T752. The T753 is a little out of my price range. It's about $800 for a refurbished one. I can get refurbished T752 for around $550. Does the T753 worth the extra? What is the sounding difference between this two? I only have a 5.1 setup and The features is not a matter to me.

Another option is marantz 7400. It's around $600 for a refurbished which fits my budget pretty well. Which one Should I get in terms of cost/performance wise?

Although this won't really help you at all, I have the T753 and just wanted to express my love for it; terrifically musical and surprisingly powerful (given the specs, a horse that's long since been beaten to death), sounds beautiful with my Paradigm Reference Studio 20s, if you can swing the extra dough, go for it!! (again, this doesn't reference any competition, so it's pretty useless)
ximen - I had a Marantz 7300 and a NAD T752 and demoed the T753 and can tell you from my personal experience that you will be fine with the T752. It sounds identical to the T753 (slight redesign of the fans) and both sounded much better than my Marantz, even though the Marantz is rated as more powerful (in truth, it sounded weak compared to the NAD).

Save your money, pick up the T752 and enjoy.
Thanks for your reply. What about the denon avr-2805. Is it in the same league? Thanks

Not really.
It depends on what you are looking for - sound quality vs. features. The Denon has a boat load of features and is impressive, but if you like to listen to music at all, I would stick with your original choices.

By the way, as I mentioned, I had most of your above mentioned choices and now run an Anthem & Bryston setup. When the time comes to move all my gear to my dedicated listening / theater room, I will be buying the Cambridge to replace my system in the family room for general stereo duty and tv viewing (plus the odd movie when I am too lazy to go to the theater room :)) - I like it that much!
Thanks [email protected] . I'll go with Nad T752. Can you also recommend a main speaker for around $500 a pair for this receiver? I don't have much money left.

Find a dealer willing to discount, or look for a used pair of B&W 602 S3's on Audiogon. MSRP is $699/pr. Paradigm Studio's have good synergy with NAD as well.
Again, I'm posting without reference to any competition, but I'd second that remark about the synergy between NAD and the Paradigm Studios. (as does my local dealer, who seem very keen on the pairing. They used to carry Marantz but dropped the line, claiming the recievers, while packing features, didn't sound quite up to snuff musically, which they're big on (selling Linn, Arcam, Sonus Faber, Vienna Acoustics, etc., in addition to Paradigm and NAD)).
NAD and Paradigm are a great combo...I recently replaced my Yamaha RX-V1400 with a NAD T763 and it litterally transformed by Mini Monitors and CC-370 center. The difference in sound quality was startling.
Paradigms are a great value as are PSB speakers (and Energy speakers for that matter). All these brands are the result of extensive research done in Canada on music listening (the largest conducted to date), specifically what sounds and frequencies influence what we perceive to be "good" or "pleasant" or "musical" and what does not. Pioneers of this study are the actual designers / owners of these great companies and each has a passion for delivering the best sound for the dollar that they can produce and as such, any would be a great match for the NAD.

I should mention that NAD and PSB are owned by the same parent company and as such, there may be a great synergy between these two brands (NAD owners swear by PSB and so forth). A good place to buy discount PSB speakers in the US is dmc-electronics.com. They often have models with small imperfections such as blemishes etc. for great discounts so you could probably get major bang for your $500 in comparison to regularly priced Paradigms. As I live in Canada I have never ordered from dmc but there are a number of members over at ecoustics.com that have and have had no problems whatsoever.

Let us know how you make out.

NHT and NAD are also a magical combination, but then again, NAD will really match up well with just about anything, well, except for maybe Bose.:p
Finally I purchased NHT ST4. I got the blemished one over ebay for $550. I originally consider the PSB 6T. A internet site sell it for $499, but the shipping make it $660 which is a little bit high for me. I am not sure if I made the right choice. I'll see after I receive the speaker. Thanks everyone for the help.
has anyone matched up NAD with ascend acoustics speakers?? if so, what were your results?
