I was just at the National Geographic Museum here in DC for lunch to see an exhibit and thought it interesting they were showing footage on a NEC Plasma monitor of the Bismark wreck that looked pretty clear compared to the early footage shot in 1991. I got reading the plaque with the footage and it said the the film was shot in HD by a camera unit with Ballard's Wood's Hole crew when the revisited the site in June 2001. Unfortunately the NEC screen was way to bright and the colors seemed a bit off, but the footage was sharp and the wreck site in HD was pretty amazing. I've not seen any other National Geographic footage in HD but makes you wonder if we will see some HD footage from Ballard's discovery of PT 109 today.

NG would seem to be an ideal HD candidate......
