I just signed on with TWC in Houston and had everything up and running last night. I noticed a switch on the back of the General Instruments decoder that says:
*480p
*720p
*1080i
*Native
Now, I have a nice Pioneer RPTV (non-Elite) that does 480i, 480p, and 1080i. So I figured that I would set the switch to 1080i. Now when I watch ABC, since it is 720p, the picture doesn't seem to look as good as say, HBO or CBS. Of course, the NBC Leno Show was the best I have seen yet (despite the drops).
Correct me if I am wrong, but when I set it at 1080i, it just upconverts everything to 1080i, unless it is already there (at 1080i)?
Anyway, what should I set it at? Should I keep changing it to match the programming?
