Hello fellow avs forum members!

I wanted to know if anyone has taken delivery on the new NEC 42mp3 plasma display yet? I wanted to try to get any last minute feedback before I order one tommorrow. I look forward to meeting you folks as I begin to post more often.

Hello Rick,

I bought one last week, but I'm still waiting for shipment (I expect it to be shipped in the next day or two). I bought mine from www.envisiontek.com and received a good deal. The 42MP3, desktop stand, and shipping to Alaska for $5750. Nobody on the web was able to beat that price. You might want to drop Cory a line to see if he'll work a good deal for you. They offer exceptional customer service.

Hi plasma-folks,

Please report immediately on the new NEC 42MP3. Im am very curious. Can anyone make a direct comparison to the panny 42"?

Also I assume, that also Runco use the new NEC panel for its PL-42cx. ( But there is also the rumor of Runco using the panny at this size. ) It is also said to have the same contrast ratio of 1500:1. RCA/Thomson use NEC panels too - new 42" here?

Looking at the present NEC plasma program I am also waiting for a new 50" with higher contrast like the new 42" and the 61" display. So there could be a new serious competitor in the 50"range vs. panny, fujitsu and pioneer too.

Just ordered my NEC 42mp3 today with paul up in Wa. He says they have it in stock and will ship shortly. Cant wait to get it!

I just ordered mine from Paul @ projectionone

also. Hope it looks good. Didn't want to wait

for the panny. Cant wait. I'm probably going to

pair it with a panny rp91 dvd.

Thanks for the reply Jon. I just spoke with Paul and mine will ship either today or Monday. Since I live in Nor Cal he said that I should be receiving mine by Wed or Thur of next week. Now if I could only find a local buyer for my 36" Proscan HD capable TV!

Did you guys receive your NEC's yet? Both my dealer and NEC tell me they are on back order for 2 weeks.

Hi Alan,

Paul was supposed to give me a status report today (Monday Oct.22) but I hadn't received any email. Hopefully we are still on track. As an aside, I have a potential buyer for my Proscan so if NEC is back ordered for two weeks my family will be going ape crazy!!!

Hi all, My dealer here in Australia ( Sound & Vision) is recieving "2" MP3,s wednesday this week.

He is going to give me his view on the MP3 on Saturday and if he considers it a substantial improvement over the MP2 ( which i currently have) then i will arrange to view it myself.

If anyones interested i will post my impressions back here.

Hopefully some of you people will have recieved your screens by then!

Just got an email from Paul. Now it seems that the NEC mp3 wont be in till later this week or early next week. Is that the same info for you too Jon?

Can someone verify if [email protected] is getting MP3's thru Electrograph distributor? If so Elect. doesn't even have them available yet! As per regional rep.
