NEC 42XR4 vs Pioneer 4270

Am trying to decide between these two: NEC 42XR4 and Pioneer 4270. I know their strengths, I'd be interested in hearing about their weaknesses and quirks from owners. Anything you do not like about them?

Well, I don't know anything about the NEC panel but I do own the 4270. I think the 4270 is a great TV with amazing HD and very good SD picture quality.

One thing you should know about the 4270 is that it really does best with the lights down low or completely off (but I think this is true of all plasmas). You can watch it fine during the day but it really looks the best in the dark. Also glare can be an issue. I know there is supposed to be some sort of anti-glare coating on the screen, but my 4270 picks up any bright lights in the room. The frame (since it is a high gloss black) can also pick up glare.

If you can control the lighting in your room, I highly recommend the 4270.
