Hi everybody,

i noticed that the neck-plate of my green CRT is somewhat tilted. The PJ is running fine but i'm worried about the long-term problems this might cause.

Or is it better to leave it as is? Have a look at the pic.

No, shove it back on straight.

That plate is the CPC magnet assembly for adjusting DOT shape and

DOT centering. If your picture quality is good I would not move it. Check

a dot pattern image for roundness on the green CRT. If you need to

adjust it because the dot is not round, then straighten it so it is 90

degrees to the neck. Bear in mind, after CPC magnet adjustments, a

complete alignment and convergence may be necessary. Also, take care

to touch the tabs only. High voltages! keep away from bare terminals

and the HV wires.

Donald, while you are correct, I think Marco was talking about the neckboard that is comming off the end of the CRT. This should be pushed back snug.

Marc,

thank you for the advice. It actually is the neckboard (i called it neck-plate) that made me wonder.

Donald,

yeah... HV  scares the hell out of me. We all must be very careful when doing the astig and it can't be mentioned often enough!!!!!
