Yes. I did mine on the ceiling. But you need a helper to hold the assembly when you pull the screws.

NEC 9PG Plus tube question
Can tubes be swapped out on these while still installed on the ceiling. I have one that has mild burn on the green crt but would like to use it as is for the time being. I'd like to check it's reliability before I order any new tubes for it. Thanks,

Yes i replaced mine with the projector on the ceiling as well. I agree that an assistant is essential.
