NEC LT240 and XBox 360... component or VGA cable..?

hello all, we just recently acquired XBox 360 and would like to know what the most proper connection to connect w/ the NEC LT240 projector. i can use either component or VGA connection on the LT240 and first assume that the VGA cable would offer best picture quality over component, but from reading in some XBox forums we find that many users are reporting very washed-out image from VGA... many are saying that the component connection offers much better color and contrast.


our LT240 is usually driven by an HTpc via VGA in its native XGA resolution, but i would hate to purchase the VGA cable only to find that it is lacking... can anyone suggest the best connection to drive my LT240 from the 360? any information or advice would be greatly appreciated as always, thx in advance all..!
