I have a NEC VR5 and have tried to connect an old vcr to it via input #2 (I believe).
This input is a composite BNC connector. So I ordered a cable from someone that put a regular coax connector on one end and a BNC connector on the other.
However, when switching to this input, I get No Signal (this happens to the two VR5s I have at home now - one is a return for pixel issues).
So I'm wondering if it has something to do with a setting on the TV or if I'm mistaken in my assumption that the VR5 can display a signal in this manner in the first place (for instance, I remember that TVs used to have the requirement of being set to channel 3 or 4 for the VCR to display).
Or if it's the cable, how can I go about testing this? I have a cheap little multimeter but what setting would I use to test the cable?
tks all,
Ty
