I just purchased a 28" Hanns-G 281DPB, and to my dismay, there's no way to set it up to display black bars on the top and bottom when having it hooked up to a PS3 via HDMI (the primary reason for purchasing it). Please correct me if I'm overlooking something and if there's really a way to do this. I really notice having it stretched vertically and hate it.


Provided it's not possible with this display... which displays around 28" will do this?


Any help is appreciated.

Your hunting in a thin forest aiming for a 28" panel being a very ODD size indeed for a Quality panel and the fact the competition in those smaller sizes is so fierce and profits so low and filled with off branders/rebadgers that they do not carry top features like 1:1.


Your best bet is saving and getting a 32" panel that has the feature set you desire and realize it's not going to do 1:1 dot modes with SD 480i Turdvision. Even a 32" panel becomes a 26" panel with SD content unless you stretch. Your largest selection base that you budget may reach should be the 32" and even that's a minimalist approach for HT.


LOL I just researched this and it's actually a MONITOR and not a full fledged TV and while it has great brightness it's CR is dated to something from 4 years ago at 800:1.
