I can't find anything but silver. I need black to match my rack.

Panasonic DMR-E55K, but no HDD on this model.
Black DVD recorders:

JVC DR-M10 (DVD recorder)

Sony RDR-GX3 (DVD recorder)

Panasonic DMR-E55 (DVD recorder)

Panasonic DMR-E85 (DVD+HDD recorder)

And possibly also the upcoming:

Panasonic DME-E65 (DVD recorder)

Panasonic DMR-E95 (DVD+HDD recorder)

Best regards,

Lars

Unfortunately, JVC has chosen to only make a silver version available in North America. The Sony RDR-GX3 is not currently marketed in North America either. Panasonic's DMR-E85 is only being offered in silver in North America (at this point anyway).

So ther's no dvd +HDD recorder in black in the US?
Can someone tell me why silver seems to be the color of choice by the manufacuters? I haven't seen silver since I was a kid in the late 70's-early 80's. Black is and still a much better choice.

Too rich for my blood. I'll keep my silver sharp....really ruins my feng shuei of my HT system.
I think the reason is most flat screen TV's are silver they want it to match. You could paint a unit black PC people do this all the time.

The annoying silver of my DMR-E80 just stuck out like a sore thumb.

So, using some electrical tape and an Xacto knife, I actually changed my E80 to black. It took about an hour. Behind the glass door of my component cabinet, you can't tell that it was done with tape.

The advantage of this method over paint is that it's reversible.

Probably because market surveys tell them to go silver.

I agree that I like black better but dollars win, the minority opinion.
