Hi! I'm looking for is a LCD HDTV monitor that's around 30 inches, has a resolution of at least 1920x1080 and is 1080p, has around a 5ms response time, and is less than $1000 (about $800 would be preferable).

A couple HDTVs I looked at (all around $900):

Sharp AQUOS LC-32GP3U 32"

SAMSUNG ToC 32" LN32A650

TOSHIBA REGZA 32" 32RV530U

Panasonic VIERA 32" TC-32LZ800

SAMSUNG 32" LN32A550

Sceptre 32" 1080P (what the hell brand is this? It's cheap though; $600 at costco)

These seem really nice, yet I'm concerned a 32" won't fit in my college dorm room. Plus they cost more ($350 more) than a 28" LCD monitor.

Here are two LCD monitors I've looked at (both $550):

ViewSonic VX2835WM 28"

Hanns·G HG-281DPB Black 28"

Both of these look like good buys, but I'm wondering how well they serve as TVs.

Hm...I have links to full specs and prices for all the displays, but apparently I don't have enough posts to post urls. :p

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I already have a 20" 1680x1020 monitor that I'll be using. The monitor I'm buying is just for games & TV.

The LC32D64U 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV is virtually the same as the LC-32GP3U, minus some "gaming" features you may or may not actually need.

The customer reviews on Amazon are all excellent, and the price is pretty good too.

I've had one for about a year and couldn't be happier.
