So what I'm after is really basic. I looked at some searches but what other people have done is, well, awesome but more than I am looking to do.


What I want is just a simple light for a cabinet that will house my AVR, bluray and cable box. It's just a light for functional purposes as well, nothing fancy. Ideally I would like something that could be motion sensor so that when I open the cabinet it just turns on the light. But otherwise a switch will work.


Even something simple like one of those taplights could work but I would strongly prefer not to deal with short life batteries and/or bulbs.


Anyways... I think you get the idea. Thanks for reading and the help!

I picked up two of these LED battery powered motion light bars from Cyberguys.com.


Flipo Motion Activated 4 LED Under Cabinet Light Bar, Black SEN-RTLITE-BK


The reviews on the site were mixed but for the low cost and it fit my needs just right, I went with them. Haven't finished my media cabinet yet but have tested these out and both seem to work as discribed. Yeah their made in China but look nice and being LED's the batteries should last awhile. The lights stay on about 10 second and if no further motion is detected they go out. But if you keep moving near the sensor the light stays on.
