Hi all.


My wife LOVES a certain danish series, but everytime she want to watch

it in the bedroom, she has to find the DVD, and remove me from my PC

and so on.


What I would really like is a program that can rip & compress the DVD's

to Divx in ONE swift stroke. I tried one of the programs, but the sound

didn't go along, and was left as an extra file next to the video.


I really don't want to spend a lot time learning how to do all this, I just

want to have my wife's favorite series compressed in so-so quality for the

bedroom.


Any advice?

dvdshrink would still make the files too big I think. I need a normal

one-hour(45min) show to be about 500MB, and in DIVX format.


Example: Let's say I wanted to rip one of my X-files episodes from DVD

to a HDD, and it shouldn't be larger than 500MB.

AutoGK is one awesome program. I used it about 6 months ago and converted an entire collection of DVDs. Be patient because it will take a while to convert them but they look great and it is amazingly simple.

I have been using using Smart Ripper to the DVD on the disk, then Dr. Divx to compress. I bought Dr. Divx 9.99 from divx.com, but I think it was a special. ANyhow, it works pretty goood. It came with a plugin for a 1CD dvix file profile, so it automaticaly deteremines res/quality to get a file for 700mb. Works pretty slick.....almost one step type stuff.

Needs a few other tools to get set up at first but once its set up the first time it's a one click backup and has the best quiality
