I have ~$2600 budget. This includes the cables and extended warranty (if applicable.) My family will be watching about 50% cable and 50% DVD. I currently subscribe to basic cable, but I will upgrade to digital once the RPTV arrives.
  • The protective/glare screen must stay as I have a toddler in the house.
  • Stretch mode needs to be considered as my family will watch 50% 4:3 TV.
  • I will be viewing from a distance of 11'.

The TV's I have been looking at are:

The Panasonic PT-53WX53, The Samsung HCN5527W, and The Mitsubishi WS-55313

any thoughts?

Yes, in the search area, Just type in these models, try it with wx53 (or 55wx53), 5527w (or add HCN too), and 313 (or 55313).

Try searching for one at a time, you may also find nice comparisons of them already.

I would also look into the hitachi's (try the S500's)

The 51S500 retails around $2100. As far as the mits goes, if you will be watching SD tv, many of there newer models have a "stretch plus" mode that makes for a nice picture. I'm not sure if the 55313 has this though...check into it. Otherwise, I dont like their regular stretch mode for 4:3 watching.
