Need Advice, Decent $300 - $400 5.1 HTIB for small room

Hello everyone, I have been lurking here for a long time and after much research, bought me an Sony KDS-R50XBR150" Grand Wega SXRD tv. The picture is great, but the sound is lacking.

I have had an old 20 years old Fisher Sound System for ages that I never used up until recently. For those of you who are curious, the receiver is an fisher 120wt rs-913a and the floor speakers are 100wt stv-753. They have done a decent job for me but my new tv takes up all the space since my room is so small. :(

I was going to buy a Sony HTDDW670 since I am a Sony fanboy, but was utterly dismayed when I cranked up the volume to full and the sub was rattling and sound was so low that my computers $50 logitechs were louder than that.

So, I need help buying a decent system no more than $400 (pre-tax) and atleast 5.1 sound. I know most of you here are more knowledgeable than me on the subject than I. I was leaning towards the Yamaha YHT-160 at BestBuy but might even consider a YHT-360 only if it is a dramatic improvement over the 160.

Be in mind I am only willing to spend $400(pre-tax) and can only buy from either Bestbuy or Circuit City . My room is very small, about 11x9 ft concrete walls, tile floor, 9ft overhead, and would prefer satellite speakers (non-floor). Will appreciate any recommendations. I'll use it for mostly movies and gaming.

Please don't bash me because i bought a $4000 tv system but can't spend $1000 on a sound system. :p

Thanks.

I bought the Sony 50" A10 television back in September and absolutely love it. The only thing lacking was the sound system. I finally decided now was the time to buy and was going to go w/ an onkyo model until I found this

Samsung #HT-HDP40

I loved the fact that it has an upconversion dvd player to 720p/1080i and both HDMI input and output. Sears had their sale up to the 24th but it looks like they've extended it until the 30th. Also, the speakers differ from the photo shown in the link. You may want to give this system a try!
I was looking for a standalone audio system since I already have a dvd player and gonna get a PS3 when it comes out.

heard here that dvd included systems tend to be less quality and was hoping to get the best quality sound system I could afford.

Anyone have some advice?

Get the Yamaha YHT 360 and don't look back. I have the same size room and the sound is excellent.
I would like the YHT-360, but i'm afraid they might not fit on the side of my SUGW12 stand. The tv leaves like 5" to the front and side of free space.

Also, I have been reading up and decided that maybe I should get a set of Athena Micra 6 and an XR55 from circuit city.

Some quick questions for you all. Is the xr55 Micra combo really that much better than the 160 or 360? Also, what size are the speakers? I can't find the dimensions anywhere and was wondering if they fit on my tv stand.

I'm now stuck between the 160, 360, or xr55 Micra6 combo.
Well, after much consideration i have decided to go with the Micra 6 Black and the xr55 for a total of about $600.

Bestbuy's site says they don't have instore pickup, but if you go to the store, they usually have some in the backroom.

I ordered the xr55 for circuit city and I have a 10% coupon for bestbuy and a $25 gift certificate. I guess I can use that $25 to buy the subwoofer cable. :)
