I know pretty much nothing about OTA DTV. I only use cable where I live...but my parents live in the Florida Panhandle area...(near Marianna, FL) where they do not have cable. They have dish network..They got a new Vizio 37" LCD HDTV. They have been trying to see what OTA HD/DTV channels they can get...currently just using some regular old rabbit ears.

Im pretty sure they need some sorta better antenna...outdoor.

I went to tvfool and put in their lat/long. I have attached the results.

Really not sure how to interpret the info to decide on antenna.

FYI with their rabbit ears they can receive ABC (WMBB), NBC (WJHG) from PC and CBS (WTVY)from Dothan....with rather frequent breakups in the signal...looks like macro-blocking.

Thanks for any advice help,

The channels with the best chance of reception are in three different directions. They are also on both UHF and VHF-high. This means they are going to need a rotator, and they will need an antenna or antennas capable of both VHF and UHF. It appears VHF-Lo is not a requirement. Being in Florida they're probably going to want one which can stand up to wind.

All that points, IMO, to the Winegard HD76XX series. One of the two bigger ones. Definitely the biggest one if you want a shot at that CW station, but you might not get it in any case.
