I live just south of Los Angeles.


I haven't set up a dish yet for HD programming on 82. I currently have an oversized dish for 91 and get a strong signal (about 92-95%). My question is, could I use a Dish500-size dish down here?


I've heard rumors that the 82 signal is harder to get, so I was thinking about pointing the oversize dish to 82 and pointing a spare Dish500 that I have to 91.


Any opinions on whether this will work? I have no more room on the roof and the Dish500 is already up there...trying to keep my roof from looking like NASA...

It should work! You might have an issue with rain fade. I'm using 2 separate dishes and it's solid.

Thanks - I've had very little problem with rain fade & luckily, we don't get a lot of rain down here anyway...I think someone wrote a song once...

I am in the Bay Area. I use an 18" for 91 and a 24" for 82. Get readings in the low 80's on each.

Over the past few months others from various areas of Ca. and Az. have said this works fine.
