Hi all,

I am trying to figure out what kind of LCD I should get for my kids room, LCD computer monitor or LCD TV with PC input.

I need to stay in the range of 20" and will be using the monitor/tv to hook up to a Mac Mini, and also to watch DVD's. I would also like the option of eventually using it as a TV with my DirecTv service.

Any advice on what I should do? In researching a few of the 20" LCD TV's out there, I only found a couple of them with PC input, and the resolution on them was only in the range of 600 x 400 or so. Will that be a problem when it is hooked up to the computer?

Thanks in advance.

slim_sammy_dlp,

Since you are going to be using it is a Comp Monitor, DVDs and then will have Direct TV going to it. I would think something like an LCD Monitor then a TV.

Dell has a great 24" Wide Screen LCD with a DVI Input:

Dell 2405FPW 24" Wide Screen LCD Display

  • 1920x1200 Resolution (16:10), 12ms Response Time, 9-in-1 flash reader
  • 1000:1 Contrast Ratio, 500 cd/m2 Brightness, +/-89 degrees Viewing Angle
  • VGA, DVI, composite, component, and S-video connections

Take Care,

Richard

P.S. If you keep an eye out for overlapping coupons and discounts, you will be able to find it in the high 700s which is a great price for what you get. ;)
