I'm looking to get a new projector. I now have an Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 6100. I was hoping to get something that would be considered an upgrade on a budget of $1000. any suggestions? Thanks, Mark
I upgraded from an Epson 6100 to an optoma HD33. If your convergence is very good on the 6100 (most are not) it will have as good or better 2D image as the HD33 (very slightly better black level on the 6100) . I upgraded for the 3D. I would say any of the entry level DLP's would be as good if not better than the 6100 (optoma HD131, Benq 1070). My 6100 was developing dust blobs and they have organic panels with a lot of hours on them the Blue polarizer will fail. For LCD I guess the 2030 should be comparable (poorer black level) and or for 2D only with comparable lens shift the 8250.
