Let me start off by saying that I have tried to do some research but it's overwhelming how much information there is to read through.
I want to build a HTPC but I am not sure which direction I should go. I am debating on a Nettop type computer and going all out and putting one together.
My only requirements are that it play 1080p mkv files, have hdmi and optical output capable of sending a ditigal audio signal to my receiver and I would like to have an rf remote so I can control the pc from the living room. My budget is between $300 and $400. I will need all the parts except hard drives.
If anyone could help out I would appreciate it.
