i need advice on what combo to use,,, i have a da-lite hccv (1.1 gain)

on order.

im going to pick up the sony hs51 projector.

my question is; do i keep my sony dvd s7700 player and link it to an iscan , then to the sony projector via dvi-hdmi cable?

or would i get better results to get a new hdmi sony or the new yamaha dvd player and link it via hdmi-hdmi cable?

ill have to run about 33 foot lenght between the projector and player.

also... if i go with the hdmi player to projector combo, how would i then hook up a cable/high definiton box, that i plan to get soon also. im not even sure of what type of connection they have on the hidef. cable boxes.

thanks.....

I find the RCA-YUV component HD signal from my Motorola 6208 HDTV cable tuner looks just as good as the DVI->HDMI signal. So, you might be able to use the HDMI strictly for the DVD player and RCA-YUV Component for the Cable HD. That's what I am going to do.

Regarding you choice of the new Sony player or running your current 7700 player thru the Iscan, the combo option is only as good as the source signal.

If you can buy the 7700 and new Sony from places with a good return policy, you could test both possibilities and see what looks best. The Iscan is hard to beat.
