Hi, I am putting together my first home theater system in my new house. I'm seeking advice and recommendations on what sub to get for my home theater.

Specs:Receiver: Pioneer VSX 1021k

Speakers: Mirage Nanosat Prestige

Room Size: 19'L x 17'W

Budget: Around $500

Listening Habits: Sports, Movies, some TV, some music

Thanks for your help

The VTF2 is a killer sub, and definitely not be too much. In your constraints, that is the sub i would probably go with. That or the Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus or Elemental Designs A3-300, but since the Hsu is on sale, its what I would lean toward.

how does the HSU compare with Rythmik servo FV12 , for both music & movies.

I haven't heard either sub, however I am guessing they would be pretty similar. I think the VTF2 in its extension mode is tuned a bit deeper, judging from cabinet dimensions and FR graphs. The VTF2 is slightly larger.
