Need advise on Kef LS 50 Wireless II

849 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Mike in NC
I am in the quest to build a Stereo System without much hassle due to ongoing Covid. That said, I auditioned these speakers and really impressed with their performance. In my region, they are retailing for 3800$. It's a pretty big investment, so I just want to make sure that I am betting on the right house. I read in a few of the forums that Kef is pretty bad with their electronics, and their active sub's failure rate is very high. After spending this much money, I don't spend another 1000$ to replace the fired-up amplifier on these. Please advise.

KEF‘s warranty on the speakers is 2 years on electronics and 5 years on the drivers. I’ve seen integrated with better warranties and passive bookshelf speakers will last a long time. Find a good streaming integrated of stereo receiver and call and get good bookshelf speakers if it worries you that much.
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, my dealer is only offering 1 year of warranty which is making me more worried.
Find a new dealer.
"New" gear should have a manufacturers warranty. If you're buying "used" or "open box".... then caveat emptor.
I agree, find a new dealer

It would make me worried, too. As far as I can tell, the KEF warranty is 2 yrs for electronics, 5 for the drivers. An authorized dealer who offers less is cause for concern. India must have many KEF dealers?
