Hi all,

Currently I have an AntennasDirect DB2 which works well for getting all the UHF channels in my area. However there are two channels I'd like to get which are located on VHF 6 and 13. My tvfool results are here:

All the VHF antennas I've found so far seem to be optimized for 7-69 - not 1-6. Are there any that are optimized for both 1-6 and 7-13?

Also, would it be more cost effective to just get a combo UHF/VHF antenna instead of getting a dedicated VHF antenna and a combo adapter? The signal is going to go to three TVs, FWIW. Thanks!

This will work fine:

You can aim your old antenna at 106 for WNJS. Add them together with a backwards splitter.

I believe that your high VHF is WHYY on channel 12.

Nice find Project! I agree, the C5600 is a great choice given the very high signal strength in the OP's area and the identical tower orientation for ch 6 and 12. The OP could continue to use his db2 for UHF and acquire VHF with the C5600. The two antennas could be joined with a usvj joiner for a single downlead to the tv(s). Mount the DB-2 on top and space the two antennas about 4 feet apart.

Thanks for the recommendations everybody! I will check out the Winegard and CS600. I was also thinking about the HD7082p since it claims to have a 6.2db gain on channel 6. But of course it is almost four times the price of the CS600...

If the TVfool forecasts are to be believed (and there is no reason not to), you have PLENTY of channel 6 signal and more gain isn't necessary. A simple dipole should be sufficient to receive that signal.

However, you may need some directionality in the case that multi-path is present.

Have you tried a simple channel 6 dipole outdoors? A cheap FM radio antenna (a couple of bucks) is close enough for 6.

If you like to tinker, for around $5 you can try building this.
