Ok Guys,

I'm having a bit of a problem.. See I bought the Onkyo s5500 thinking that it had a powered zone two. It took about five minutes after I had hit the Buy button that I realized that I was mistaken. Now, I don't necessarily need 2 zones now, as I'm in an apartment, but I'm sure that once I'm in a house I'm going to want to to expand and be able to utilize some of the same components that I have in the apartment.

When I first set up the s5500, I realized that the speakers aren't all that wonderful.

A little about me, I'm not an audiophile at all, but I love my music more than watching loud movies. I love clarity, warm sounds and the idea that it doesnt have to be bumpin to be heard clearly. I had someone else set up my prior living space for me with in ceiling speakers, some yamaha receiver and jamo speakers through out the house. Having lost that space in the divorce, I'm on my own and trying to figure it out. My current space has a lot of glass, concrete floors, ceilings are about 9ft, room about 33x15. I can spend about $450.

So.. I thought I'd ask what you guys thought about these possible set ups:

seems that this would work nicely but I'm concerned that the speakers may be too small for my area.

I've heard good things about Klipsch, I'm wondering if these may be able to handle the space a little better.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I'm kinda flying blind here..
