I have an older Hitatchi 36sdx01s CRT. It has a DB-15 RGB input. My highdef converter died and I am looking to use a scaler to turn Tivo 480i s-video output into 480p into the 15 pin vga.

The old DVDO iscan plus.v2 looks exactly right but even used on e-bay it runs $100 bucks. The money not as much of a concern as to the quality versus other cheap scalers. The chip set in the DVDO plus looks at least seven years old. I am leery of buying that old a computer ANYTHING. :)

Help. I have no idea whats on the market.

go for the Iscan Pro; shouldn't be that much more, accepts component in (480i) and looks pretty darn good. I have 3 older doublers; I'm trading in one for the new DVDO box, but I am KEEPING my Pro. It does an acceptable job on a 12' wide screen; I can't imagine it not looking good on a 36" direct view crt.
