Need different remote senders

251 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  The Robman
I have the Rca style infrared remote control sender and i want to go another route.I always have problems with them. One is upstairs and one downstairs. When i bought them i had seen a unit that was wired directly from one to the other and changing channels was instant,no hoping it will work good today. They were more money but i can't remember what they were called.Does anyone have a good suggestion for a quality remote signal sender ?

Thanks,

Maybe you're thinking of this (click on picture below). I use this model myself and it works great.

That may be it.Do they work flawlessly. When my room is bright i have a poor response with my RCA cone senders.I would only upgrade if they work as if you are pointing directly to the source.
I have had 100% success with this device. I was originally using a Wavecom, Sr to send both the video and the remote signals, and while the remote part worked pretty good, the video signal wasn't great. Then I tried the Radio Shack thing that transmits over the phone line and it sucked. So I decided to bite the bullet and run a coax around the house. That was fine for the video, so I tried a Radio Shack 15-2117 remote to send the remote signals and that didn't work so great, which is how I ended up with the Channel Plus device (thanks to a recommendation from fellow remote guru: Jon Armstrong).
