I was wondering should I get definite technology pro 1000 for fronts and center, or should I get elemental designs a6 5t5 for fronts and center, I would be using for 50% movies and 50% music, thank you

Never heard of either manufacturer, get whats best sounding to you.


EDIT: I just realized you're talking about DefiniTIVE Technology....meh, still never heard of elemental designs.

Both brands have excellent reputations, but eD mostly for subwoofers. As previously stated, get whatever sounds best to you.

I was impressed with Elemental Design speakers, well worth their price tag. I have not heard the Def Techs, so my vote would be with ED's.

I have the 1000 myself, I love em. Haven't heard the ed's but always see people talking about them.

I think there was a White Van brand that was called Definite Technology or something pretty close to Definitive.

eD is more known for their subs, and they make a greater variety of subs than speakers, but I've heard their speakers are pretty good for the price. Many of the ID sub makers have a small but well made selection of speakers that they often package with a sub or sell by themselves.


Def Tech has a good rep as well. I imagine if you can hear them both that will go further in your choice, but based on reputation, they both have fans.
