Question is easy. Do you want the best or not? Get the OLED. LCD's are inferior technology. They use a back light. OLED light is produced by each individual pixel. The result for OLED is 0 black levels and no wash out in viewing angles. Why do people still buy LCD's? Don't understand it. Black level is the single most important part of picture quality. Why would you ever want an LCD? And posters don't give that crap about the room and you got sun. OLED is a light cannon compared to Plasma.

Need help deciding between the LG C9 OLED and the Samsung QLED Q90 ......
Which one would you guys choose ?
I know there's pros and cons to each and a lot of different variables that go into the decision but which is the better buy for the money ?

This forum is mainly for OLED owners. You won't get a lot of recommendations for LCD TVs here.
OLED is the only currently available self-luminous display (where each pixel emits light). That gives perfect blacks, and wide viewing angles. OLED is not completely without its negatives: OLEDs can suffer burn-in, and the brightest available displays are LCDs.
I have a 2017 B7A. The only thing I'd like better is a newer OLED.

So basically burn in hysteria and a quest for unnecessary brightness are the only LCD advantages.

Hysteria? Burn-in has happened. Just leave a cable news network with a fixed logo (e. g. CNN) on the screen for long enough, and there you are. That's not something I do, but others have had a problem. (The 2018 and later sets have a feature that is supposed to reduce the effect of that. I have a 2017 set, and haven't studied comparisons.)
Unnecessary brightness depends on how you view the TV. If you have a dark enough room, even a projector/screen would be bright enough. If you watch in the daytime in a room with windows that you don't want to cover with room-darkening shades, you may want bright. You can even buy TVs intended for outdoor use, but they're expensive.
If you wish to complicate your choice further, and you watch a lot of sports, consider motion processing. LG sets may not be the best in that regard, but Sony is (I think) rather more expensive.
There is no TV that is superior to all others in every single respect. I think that OLEDs are the best if their limitations don't trip you up.

For those with a limited budget, there are no cheap OLEDs, even 2018 leftovers start at $1,200 for a 55" LG B8. Every OLED (LG, Sony, and Panasonic) beats the Samsung QLED every year in every shoot-out. That should tell you something. IMO, the only reasons to go LED is if you have a very bright room and cannot control the ambient light, or you leave the display on 24/7 on CNN. For watching movies in the dark, OLED is vastly superior to LED.
LCD also shows near black detail better.
I've been struggling with this choice myself - and it's made a little bit more complex by the fact that Samsung right now doesn't have a full HDMI 2.1 implementation on the Q90 and doesn't support DV. I have a 5-year old LG Plasma in a room (burned in with "Breaking News CNN" on it because I left it on too long continuously on cable news). At the 75/77 inch sizes, I can actually get a Q90 for somewhat cheaper than the C9 because of some promos (through EPP / work / whatever) and I keep going back and forth between the two.
I'm guessing, even with the ambient light (I have blinds, but not blackout curtains), if my old plasma was bright enough, then a C9 should be plenty, right?
I keep waiting year after year for improvements to OLED tech (been doing this since the C6/C7 days) and I'm rather sick of waiting and not having HDR, 4K and all the other latest wizardry.

Price is No Object I just want the best TV for the money which is the most up-to-date since Technologies constantly evolving..... the brightness factor is an issue I do watch a lot of sports particularly Sunday afternoon football

Purely cosmetic. To me it's not worth the extra price tag, but I guess it is for you if you prefer that look. Performance is exactly the same in terms of PQ. As I said above, the only performance difference is for the internal speakers (a moot point if you use external speakers).But is there any advantage to having the glass as opposed to not ?
So i bought the E9 and absolutely love it.....the glass actually makes the TV ridged and sturdy compared to the C9 which is unbelievably flimsy.Purely cosmetic. Also a rep for LG on their website stated in the questions section that the E9 handles glare and reflections better however i don't know if thats true or not.
