Need Help Deciding - DLP or LCD

Looking for some help with what TV to buy. Looking to spend between $1500-2200 for a tv where I will get the best all around quality for playing games watching TV and DVDs. I would like something 32"+ and basically just looking to get the best set for the money. So far I have been recommended these 3 sets (Samsung 42" DLP HL-R4266W, Sony 42" LCD Rear Projection KDF-E42A10, and the Sony 32" LCD KLVS32A10 ) . I've read the Samsung DLPs have some gaming issues, but have also heard the same on all LCDs. I live in a rented apartment with some room, but not just looking for a set for this spot specifically as I do not plan on living here for the long term, so I would like a set with versatility (the wall mounting of an LCD is a plus but currently would not be able to hang it in my apartment).

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

well, i've owned two dlp's so far, and i like them alot. you'll get some rainbows with dlp's, but they have better blacks and no screen door effect. there is a 46 inch toshiba dlp that they sell at pc richards for around $1800. both dlp's and lcd's are slim. as gaming goes i never had a problem with it. the one's that had problems were the one's playing ps2 at 480i. if your gonna go with a dlp, make sure it has the h2+ chip in it(it has better blacks). my views are a little biased due to the fact that i like dlp's. my unbiased advice would be to ask the store your gonna buy your tv from if you can try both of them out, so if your not digging either one you can return them. hope that help's. :) plus remember it's always better to get a bigger tv(if its good for your room) than a smaller one. trust me, eventually even a 50inch will look small.
I would recommend the Sony a10. But you are really going to have to look at both sets side by side with the same feed and decide which looks better to you and take into account versatility (inputs and capabilities versus price).
I have the Sony 42" a10 and am very happy with its performance. I don't have any experience with the DLP's except what I have seen in BB but I know that when I turn on my LCD the picture just seems to burst off the screen the colors and brightness are unbelievable. My friend has a Sony Lycos and that is even better but way out of my price range. But as a cop out I will tell you what this... It is all up to you're eyes. Trust them, They will not steer you wrong.

I dont think "picture bursting of the screen" is a good thing. Sounds like the colors are pumped too hard. Id got with DLP. More natural colors, more realisim, better with fast action on screen and one of the MOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA.....way way better blacks then Sony. If you compare Sony, there is also the blue hue on their displays that for some reason they think is good.
and definately the Sony Jumbo elephant ears on the side are a major turnoff. Even it is pictures was as good (which it is not) that alone would be reason to go with DLP>
