I only paid $250 for this TV so I don't expect a perfect picture, but I'm hoping I can get at least a slightly more reasonable image out of this thing. Here's what I'm talking about:
While not as bad as my phone's camera makes it look, it's still pretty bad. I'm not trying to get 100% color accuracy out of this display; what bugs me the most is that all but the most pure reds look magenta red. That's what I want to focus on fixing first before worrying about anything else.
Here are the settings I have to work with in the user menu...:
...and the service menu:
(Note that Sharpness, DLC, and Color Mode do nothing. Color is the only setting here that is greyed-out in the user menu but adjustable here.)
Unfortunately the one setting I need the most -- tint/hue -- is greyed out in the user menu and (apparently) missing in the service menu. Can this display be salvaged? If so, what do I need to adjust? Red gain? Is there another setting in the service menu I need to look for? Could there possibly be a setting that would make the greyed-out tint setting adjustable?
