Settings like brightness and contrast are better off being set on the display anyway, but upscaling capabilities for the Samsungs over component require a remote hack. I'm sure you can contact Samsung for a replacement remote.

Need help- have sammy 845, but no remote
hey everyone,
will I be able to adjust the settings for the DVD player without the remote?
I bought it open box at BB for super cheap ($60). It works great, and I have programmed my Panny tv remote to turn it on/off etc, but I haven't figured out whether I can access the user menus/settings.
Has anyone had any experience using another remote with the 845?
