I have a motorola HD cable box and am trying to connect it to the HL-P via a DVI to HDMI connector. This results in an error message about signal not supported.

Any thoughts as to why this might be? It works fine if I use straight DVI, but I need two digital inputs and have two devices with DVI out only.

Thanks,

Tom

I use a Motorola 6200 Comcast box v7.15 on my HLP-4663 and it works fine. Have you tried going into the service menu and made sure it is in either 720p or 1080i through DVI?

I tried another DVI to HDMI cable.

I was able to get it to work from my Moto 6208 STB, but only at 480P. and that had green sparklies all over the place.

The STB service menu would display over all resolutions execpt 480i, but when I power the STB back up it just said no signal available. If I set the STB to 720p then it would flash once so I could see the menu and screen, which was all crazy and green, then it would go black

I also tried it on my Samsung HD-931. It sent the image over at 720p or 1080i, but again it had green sparklies.

At this point I am assuming it is a bad cable(s). Can anyone recommend a good source for this type of cable. These current ones are from PacificCable.com
