I have chosen this weekend to finally get an LCD. Given that I have 1 location to shop at - Fry's, I have narrowed my choices down to these models -


Samsung LN-S4095 - 1080p

Samsung LN-T4053 - 768p

Sony KDL40S2010 - 768p

Sharp LC-42D62U - 1080p

Toshiba 42HL167 - 1080p


They are within $300 of one another so the price is not an issue. Which would be the best?


I will be watching HD/SD and the occasional movie with the likely event that I will add an Xbox 360 or PS3 sometime down the road.


Thank you for any input to help me make this monumental decision.

For this size ( > 40") I think I'll go with 1080p ...


As for the model, you've made very good choice there.


I think Toshiba 42HL167 is the newest among your list.
