Ok ive been looking all over the place and have even looked at plasmas to but the burn in problem seems like a very annoying thing and i think the rest of my family would mess it up so DLP seems like a safer work horse. anyway i found a good deal on amazon for the Mitsubishi WD-52631 52" 1080p DLP HDTV , good price too, but the one thing i really care about is reliablity and annoying problems with the tv a year or two from the day you purchased it. any feedback on this tv or even a better tv would be appreciated, i want reliablity more than best image quality in its class. and how are mitsubishi tv's in general on reliablity and how is there service or tech support.

I find that samsung customer service is very good... would definitely call them the king of DLP still. Look at places like frys.com too... very nice deals going right now.

can you buy it from the retailer or do these companies offer warranty where you can buy it from there site, i want 5 year warranty because my current 52 inch panasonic hdtv suffered a convergance failure and i only had 1 year warranty on it, but i dont feel like wasting my money on it, since its probably going to need a bulb replacement too in no time since its pushing 4 years now. also i keep hearing nightmare stories of samsung from the user reviews at amazon so that always puts me down, they do have some good sets but i heard alot of relaibility problems with them.

Samsung reliability is every bit as good as Mits (they have sold more DLPs than Mits, hence more complaints). I bought my EW from the store I bought the set at (Tweeter).
