Need help in knowing what cables I need to purchase

I've had two really good experiences ordering from www.monoprice.com . They were super fast, and the cables seem to be pretty good quality (and SUPER cheap).


For audio, you will definitely need digital coax audio cables (don't buy anything fancy..the $4 75-ohm digital audio cables from monoprice are just fine). Use the digital coax audio cables to connect your DVD player and cable box's audio outputs to the receiver. Then use a standard L/R audio cable (red and white) to connect audio output from your receiver to your TV. You might also need component video cables for your cable box to connect to the TV.


My suggestion would be to order more cables than you need from monoprice. I ended up making two separate orders because I underestimated how many ways I would want to connect things. Now I have multiple connection options for each device, and the total cost of cables was around $50 for everything.
