A friend of mine bought a 50-inch Dell plasma hdtv over 18 months ago. The tv had always been sitting on a tv stand. Suddenly this week, he is seeing color bleed, after glow and dead pixels on the screen. He switched between cable and DVDs and confirmed they were not due to the source. It is passed the warranty period. Can the problems be fixed or should the tv just be replaced? Please advise.

They have setup some semblance of a repair network ....who the heck "Jabil" is I have no idea, they have a website which shows some scattered locations in the US = likely have to ship the unit.


"Should" it be replaced, tough call given the known issues with the 50" unit????? (bet that would likely annoy the stuff out of someone)

Hi Bailey, Thanks for the response. Where can I read up about the known issues on Dell 50" plasma? I am curious to find out more about the unit
