I have an Integra 9.1U2 receiver, and a Pioneer DV-47A DVD player. On my Integra receiver, I can adjust the levels of the multi-channel inputs so they all play at the same level. I have found it neccasary to turn my powered sub down a few db's. But my question is - my DVD player also allows level control of the channels. What am I better off using, the receiver or DVD player to accomplish this? Do I need to set it up with test tones and my Radio Shack meter?

Don't think it matters. I find it easier to control level with the processor since that is where your overall calibration is done.


Funny that you feel you have to turn down the sub with multi-channel music. Most people think that the sub level is down several db on those discs, especially SACD. YMMV,
