Need help with cables and compatiblities

360 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ken H
I bought a zenith 900x pro Quiet a while ago and love the projector.I started of with directv rca 100 box witch I believe is the fisrt box out for HD.I also have a cristal image scaler. I switch from directv to HD cable and the only HD outputs on my box is DVI and 3 wire component.

My projector is a 5 cable BNC going to cristal image scaler. My scaler has xvga as the only HD input.

My question is.The cables for 3 wire component to xvga with this work.I don't think there is anything I can do with DVI.

Please Help

GodfatherPC,

Alas, I can't help directly, but you might find some answers in the display and projector forums. There might even be a thread dedicated to your unit.

Happy Holidays,

Tom
DVI is digital, the rest of your equipment is analog, not much you can do about using DVI. You'll need a component to VGA transcoder to convert the output from the HD box to attach it to your scaler.

You need a high band (or wideband) component video to RGBHV transcoder. Extron makes the best one, CVC200, at $895 MSRP. Other products are available for less, like the Key Digital KD-CTCA3 at $300.

Check with the AVS Store for discount pricing on the Extron.
